About

A small audit house with a stubborn paper trail

Copper Reed exists for fintech teams who want independent eyes on controls before examiners, banks, or boards ask harder questions.

Origin

Why Kinmen, why fintech

The house began when former bank examiners and payments operations reviewers wanted a quieter base for deep sampling work — away from the noise of product launches, close enough to Taipei fieldwork. From 737 King Loaf, 金門市, 福建省, Taiwan, we travel to client offices with kickoff binders already annotated.

We chose audits for fintech deliberately. Payment institutions, wallets, lenders, and remittance houses share a tension: money moves in seconds while evidence still lives in tickets, emails, and overnight files. That tension is our craft.

Practice focus
Payments controls, AML programs, licensing readiness, partner-bank assurance
Working language
English engagement letters; bilingual workpaper support for Taiwanese filing contexts
Typical clients
Licensed or applicant fintech firms with an exam, bank, or board deadline

Approach

Values that show up in the workpapers

  • Evidence over eloquence — findings cite samples, not adjectives.
  • Owners over orphans — every issue names a function that can fix it.
  • Scope honesty — we decline work that should be a legal opinion or a penetration test.
  • Quiet delivery — no fake urgency, no exam scare tactics.

If a finding cannot be shown to a transaction, a ticket, or a file, it does not belong in our letter.

Clients remain responsible for remediation staffing and for counsel’s legal positions. We remain responsible for the independence and clarity of the audit work we sign.
